Hi,

Host 1 : Ableton Live 9 Suite 9.2.1 64bit
Host 2 : VST Host (Free software) - http://www.hermannseib.com/

Version : ABL3

Platform : Windows 10

I've installed the new ABL3 64bits version, but when the host (both) scans the VST Plugin folder ABL3 is not loaded.

Instead, ABL3 32bits version loads fine in VST Host free software.

Thanks for the support.

Hi bendi,
ABL3 64bit was tested in Live 9 and on Windows 10 and works there.

I just tried with VSTHost x64 on Win7 and both ABL3 versions get detected and load/work just fine.
Could you try another 64bit free host - Cantabile Lite http://www.cantabilesoftware.com/download/

In Live you could start to rescan all VSTs. If that doesn't work delete or rename your preferences folder. I sometmes get issues in Live that resolve only that way.

Hi R.A.W.

Thanks for your answer.

I've done a clean install of Windows 10 Pro.
I've installed Cantabile Lite 64 bit version.
I've installed ABL3 64 bit version in this folder : C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\VST2\AudioRealism\ABL3

Inside Cantabile:
1.- New Plugin -> Choose File/Plugin
2.- Choosing file : C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\VST2\AudioRealism\ABL3\ABL3(x64).dll
3.- Getting this error :
Cantbile
The following error(s) have occurred:
VST Plugin- ABL3(x64) - failed to load - The specified module could not be found. (0x8007007e)

If I do the same with ABL2 64 bits (ABL2_x64.dll) it works fine.
If I do the same with Voxengo SPAN plugin it works fine.

Any idea?
Any log file that I can send to you?

Thanks for support.

Is there any more detail to the message?

That is a quite common Windows message. I guess you are missing C++ runtime libraries on your system that I had already installed on my machine (Win7 x64). That's why it worked on my system.

After a quick Google search it might be that you are missing the "msvcr71.dll" or "msvcp71.dll" from the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2005 which you can get directly at MS -> http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=EB4EBE2D-33C0-4A47-9DD4-B9A6D7BD44DA

It might be that another dll is missing and you need another runtime, there could be a hint further down in the error message you got.

Hi,

I had already installed:
- Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64)
- Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86)

I've intalled Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x64) like you suggested, but still not working.

Same error message wihtout more details.

Any other way to get more specific error message?

Thanks for your help.

I still think your system is missing some dll as this is what the error suggests.

I will be back home tomorrow and will try to force this error. Perhaps I can tell you afterwards where to look.

In the meantime you can check the windows event log if there is more detailed info on the missing dll.

Hi R.A.W,

Finally I figured out the missing DLL.

Doing some Google search I tried this software : Dependency Walker ( http://www.dependencywalker.com/ ) which scans all dependent modules of a given windows module.

I scanned ABL3(x64) and it found that this two DLLs were missed:
- mvscp100.dll
- mvscr100.dll

Another Google search based in this two DLLs said me that the needed package was Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64) which is available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=14632

In summary looks like:
1.- A clean install of Windows 10 come with:
- Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64)
- Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86)

2.- ABL3 needs:
- Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x64)
- Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86)

I don't known if this is totally true, but it worked for me.

Ready to do some acid stuff!!!

Thanks for your help.

Hi bendi,
glad it worked out. Thanks for informing me. There are some people at KVR having the same issue.

I will log that with the beta team and devs as well as informing the KVR users.
