We have received reports that ABL2 can have bad GUI performance on certain PCs. We are working on solving this problem, meanwhile the workaround is to turn down the hardware acceleration one step. See this article for details:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/263391

Users have noted that turning down the hardware acceleration will not affect most other application negatively.
